A little bit about us....

	www.saskhouses.com was launched on June 18, 1999 by Dale & Susanne Neufeld. Dale & Susanne had recently moved from Prince Albert to Saskatoon, and had gone through a time-consuming and expensive process of finding a home to purchase. The internet was still in its infancy, and you couldn’t really shop for homes on-line. The MLS website included very few images of properties, and even fewer addresses, and information on private home sales was limited to brief text-only ads in the newspaper. The result was a lot of trips between Prince Albert & Saskatoon to look at relatively few houses.
Even though there were hundreds of homes for sale in Saskatoon at the time, we were shown less than a dozen, and our choice was limited by the decisions of the agent who was helping us at the time. About a year after our move to Saskatoon, we were looking to start a home-based business, and we had the idea of starting a website for people who were selling their homes privately. There was nothing like it in Saskatchewan at the time, and we chose the name saskhouses.com – because it fit with our home base in Saskatoon, and with our home province of Saskatchewan.
	For the first few years, the website was a tough sell. Most people didn’t have access to the internet at home, and many didn’t have access through their workplace either. Plus, many people didn’t trust the internet, and many private sellers weren’t comfortable with the idea of putting pictures of their homes on the internet. There were many times when we could have given up on our idea, but we were convinced it was a good idea with lots of potential, and Susanne worked hard to keep the business alive & slowly growing.
The hard work started to pay off in 2002, when we noticed that people were becoming more and more familiar with the internet, and more and more comfortable with advertising their homes on our website. We had gone from a business that was completely invisible when we started, to one that was starting to become a household name in Saskatoon, and in communities throughout Central Saskatchewan.
	From 2002 to the present, we have seen significant, and sometimes dramatic growth in our business, every year. Our website has seen a lot of changes since it first began, and we are striving to ensure that it has the most up-to-date technology available, and that the information we provide to home buyers and sellers is up-to-date, easy to find, and accurate. We have formed partnerships with national & local companies to help private home sellers across the province market their homes as efficiently as possible.
By the spring of 2006, our business had grown to the point where it needed both of us to focus on saskhouses.com full-time. Dale left his 20 year career in broadcasting to help Susanne with the day to day operation of the business. We added an office to our home in Saskatoon, and re-designed the website from the ground up to make the website more manageable for us, and for our customers.
	Our priority from the beginning was to provide the best customer service possible to all of our customers, and that priority remains the same today. We spend a lot of time on the phones, answering questions, offering suggestions, and helping meet customer needs.
